The Different Types of Programming Languages - Learn the Basics

,
LEARNING WITH ANIMATION:

The progression of computer programming languages was made possible by the programmer's search for efficient translation of human language into something that can be read and understood by computers. The languages generated, called machine code, have high levels of abstraction, which hide the computer hardware and make use of representations that are more convenient to programmers.

As programs evolve and become more sophisticated, programmers found out that certain types of computer languages are easier to support. As expected in a dynamic discipline, there is no standard for categorizing the languages used in programming. There are, in fact, dozens of categories. One of the most basic ways to categorize the languages is through a programming paradigm, which gives the programmer's view of code execution. Among the languages classifications according to programming paradigm are:

o Object-Oriented Programming Languages
Known as the newest and most powerful paradigms, object-oriented programming requires the designer to specify the data structures as well as the types of operations to be applied on those data structures. The pairing of data, and the operations that can be done on it is called an object. A program made using this language is therefore made up of a set of cooperating objects instead of an instructions list.

The most famous object-oriented programming these days are C#, C , Visual Basic, Java, and Python.

o Structured Programming Languages

An exceptional type of procedural programming, structured programming provides programmers with additional tools to handle the problems created by larger programs. When using this language, programmers are required to cut program structure into small pieces of code that can easily be understood. Instead of using global variables, it employs variables that are local to every subroutine. Among the popular features of structured programming is that it doesn't accept GOTO statement which is usually associated with the top-down approach. Such approach starts with an opening overview of the system with minimal details about the various parts. To add these details, design iterations are then included to complete the design.

Commonly used structured languages include C, Pascal, and ADA.

o Procedural Programming Languages

Procedural Programming involves a list of operations the program needs to complete to be able to attain the preferred state. It is a simple programming paradigm where every program comes with a starting phase, a list of tasks and operations, and an ending stage. Also called imperative programming, this approach comes with small sections of code that perform certain functions. These sections are made up of procedures, subroutines, or methods. A procedure is made up of a list of computations that should be done. Procedural programming lets a part of the code to be used again without the need to make several copies. It achieves this by dividing programmatic tasks into small sections. Because of this, programmers are also capable of maintaining and understanding program structure.

Among the known procedural languages are BASIC and FORTRAN.

These are the different types of computer programming languages that you can consider when planning to make a computer program. Procedural programming splits the program's source code into smaller fragments. Structured languages require more constraints in the flow and organization of programs. And object-oriented programs arrange codes and data structures into objects.

Basic Horse Care Tips Every Horse Owner Should Follow

,
LEARNING WITH ANIMATION:

I love horses. However, taking care of one is a big responsibility. They are naturally sociable creatures that nurture their loved ones and have an affinity to running free through wide open areas with other members of their herd. Over the years of domestication, horses have learned to adapt to stable life; they still need a great deal of care though to fulfill their needs. Here are a few basic tips to properly care for your horse:

Horses love to run around with very little restrictions and limitations. Usually this means you'll need a wide open space where they can do this. Typically there isn't an exact acreage requirement but most experts agree that one acre of pasture per horse is more than enough. You want the pasture to be fenced so the horse can't escape or become injured. Now that you have a spot where the horse can pasture, check it for any potential hazards such as trash, holes in the fencing, and poisonous plants. These include yew, deadly nightshade, ragwort, foxglove, buttercups, oak leaves and acorns, bracken, laurel, privet, meadow saffron, castor bean, locoweed, horsetail, star thistle, and sorghum.

You don't want to forget about providing adequate shelter to protect the animals from the wind, rain, and sun. While trees provide some nice shade from the sun out in the pasture, they will require something sturdier during the colder winter months and during a rainstorm. Most horse owners typically go with a three-sided enclosure or barn since thy work best. The shelter has to be large enough so all the horses can fit inside comfortably. The back wall should be built so that it faces the prevailing wind.

If for some reason your horses are kept in the stable for most or all of the day, they will require daily grooming so their coats stay healthy. You don't want to over groom either if they horse spends a good amount of time in the pasture. The horse's coats produces natural oils which keep the horse warm and dry. Horse blankets are also good on cooler or rainy days if the horses are out in pasture too.

Now that the shelter is all set up and ready to go, your next step is to provide proper bedding in the stable. You don't want your horses standing on a hard floor all day. Plus they need to something soft to sleep on at night. I personally use straw as bedding. It is inexpensive, warm, and comfortable.

If You Don't Read These 7 NO's in Pregnancy, You'll Hate Yourself Later

,
LEARNING WITH ANIMATION:

It must be lovely to find out that you have a baby inside your womb. Imagining how to give birth to him/her, searching for the right name, shopping for cute baby outfits, baby shower party. Oh yes, those are very lovely.

However, it is necessary for you to keep yourself alert--without having to trim your excitement down.

There are 7 NO's in pregnancy that you have to know:

1. Smoking. Do not smoke or be around those who do. Smoking raises the levels of carbon monoxide in your bloodstream and cause dropping off on the amount of oxygen available to your baby. Nicotine constrains the blood vessels on your side of the placenta, which means oxygen is less efficiently released to the baby.

2. Medicines. The problem caused by medicines taken by the mother is that they can cross the placenta and enter the baby's bloodstream. This might cause problems in the development of the baby. Medicines can also indirectly have an effect on the baby by interfering with the environment within the womb. Some medicines can trigger contractions of the womb, lessen the blood supply to the baby, cause early, delayed or even prolonged labor.

3. Alcohol. Babies born to mothers who drank alcohol during their pregnancy are usually small and underweight. And, they might suffer from fetal alcohol syndrome. It is the leading cause of mental retardation in the US.

4. Stress. Try your best not to be stressed out. It might make you find it difficult to sleep, get headache, back pain, etc. It might also influence your baby's mood. Worse, it might cause early birth.

5. Chemical. Be careful with the chemicals you use at home such as cleaners, paint, thinner, or pesticide. If you work with those chemicals for such a long period during your pregnancy, your baby is exposed if the chemical passes from your blood. This will harm your baby and slow down your baby's growth and intelligence.

6. Hot tub. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) affirms that becoming overheated in a hot tub is not recommended during pregnancy. ACOG also recommends that pregnant women never let their core body temperature rise above 102.2º F. Hot tubs are often factory programmed to maintain a water temperature of approximately 104º F. It takes only 10-20 minutes in a hot tub to raise your body temperature to 102º F or higher.

7. Animal feces. Make sure you don't clean up your dog or cat's poo. It contains an organism called Toxoplasma gondii which is very dangerous for your baby. It might cause a miscarriage, stillbirth, blindness, deafness, or learning disabilities.

For your own and baby's good, be very careful wit your pregnancy.

Computer Games For Toddlers

,
LEARNING WITH ANIMATION:

Toddlers have the capacity to learn quickly, especially if they are taught using images, colors and graphics. Hence, computer games for toddlers have created a niche market in today's world. Also, this is a fun way to learn and toddlers do not find the learning process boring or tedious.

There are several computer games in the market especially designed for toddlers. Some of the categories of games that are available are as follows:

Animal games: In this particular category, all the games are associated with animals. Games are usually centered around matching the name of the animal to a picture or guessing the sound the animal makes. The games are slow paced so that the toddler has sufficient time to grasp it.

Alphabet games: Here the main aim of the games is to teach the letters to the toddler. Usually the toddler has to press the corresponding letter on the keyboard and when it done correctly, images of items starting with that letter come up on the screen. With the help of images, a toddler can learn the alphabet in a relaxed and fun way.

Roll-over games: These games are specifically designed to improve the hand-eye co-ordination. The games are designed in such a manner that the toddler has to move his or her eyes in all the directions and also move his or her hands in the same direction as the eyes. These games also help to improve the concentration ability of the child.

Shape matching games: Here, the toddler has to match the shape of the image displayed. It is a simple and fun way of teaching the various shapes to the toddler. In fact, several of these games are available for free on the Internet.

Painting games: This is a good way to teach the child the different colors. In addition, the toddler also learns to concentrate and mix and match various colors to come up with a completely different color altogether.

Everything You Should Know About Cat Scratching Post

,
LEARNING WITH ANIMATION:

Cats are naturally fond of scratching things. They tend to hook up their claws to surfaces and scratch them. This way they can sharpen their claws and remove old materials from it. This can also be a mark for territory. A scent gland in their paws mark the territory they want to contain. Also it serves as means of exercise for their muscles. They can scratch on your walls or worse, on your expensive furniture. This is the most problematic behavior of a cat because it poses a great deal of damage to you. That is why having a scratch post is of the essence when it comes to caring for your cat.

A scratching post is any wooden post that is mostly rough. Its purpose is to divert the attention of your cat thus preventing them from scratching on your furniture. The most common type of scratching post is the wooden ones. It usually measures 60-90 centimeters. It is mostly covered with rough fabric. Having a rough surface separates your scratching post so any other furniture in your house. It has wide base that allows a stable support that it would not trip off when your pet scratches on to it and it also allows your cat to fully extend their body thus keeping their body fit. Surfaces may vary depending on the kind of cat your have or your own personal preference. Most of the pet owners go for a corrugated cardboard surface. There are also posts that are more elaborated such as some containing several levels of horizontal platforms that promote your cats to climb on it and also there are some with a cave-like area where cats can go inside and hide. There are also variations like designing it to be tall and have tension rods that reach to your ceiling to make it even more stable. The likes of this are often called "cat trees". There are also cat scratch post that are simple. Surfaces of it consist of a piece of carpet turned upside down and also it can be flat surface with a pad of woven sisal with a loop. This way, it can be hung on a doorknob or anywhere you like. Others made it from corrugated finger board. Cat scratcher can be found in most pet supply stores and also online. But most of the pet owners tend to build their own and customize their cat scratching post.

The more important thing than a cat scratch post mentioned above is the basic knowledge in taking care of your beloved pet feline. Mostly, training your cat is completed within 6 months. You can find many tutorials regarding trainings of your cat in the Internet. Trainings of such includes how to train them to litter in there litter box. Knowing the basics in keeping your litter box clean may be helpful also. As we all know, they have the most disturbing litter smell of all the domesticated animals found in your home. Among the things mention above, the most essential is how an owner understands the different behaviors of their cat and being patient enough when it comes to training them. They may not learn the things you wanted them to learn immediately. But with proper behavior modification techniques and rewarding them when they perform well, surely your pet will amaze you on how fast they will improve.

Pressure Can Be Positive

,
LEARNING WITH ANIMATION:

Sometimes we think that life would be perfect if we could be alone on a tropical island sipping a cool drink while lying in a hammock.

However, the human mind must have contact and fellowship with others. Did you see "Cast Away" with Tom Hanks or read Robinson Crusoe or Island of the Blue Dolphin? Humans must have camaraderie, real or imaginary in order to stay sane. Horses are herd animals and have the same need for company and like humans, it can be in many forms; goats, dogs, even us. This, of course, leads to the problem of where two minds occupy the same space there is pressure.

Pressure is not always a negative thing; it is what motivates change. However, when the pressure is too great or there is no release from that pressure, a mind can choose to avoid the source of that pressure. The source of pressure can be an object, situation, or relationship. The horse, just like us, will avoid partnerships based on force, fear, manipulation, or constant punishment. There has to be a release from pressure and a reward for correct changes or the horse will eventually shut down.

Alternately, when pressure is applied correctly change can take place, but again whether the change is good or bad depends on the situation, avenues of escape from the pressure, and which avenue appears to be the 'easiest.' It is critical to use lessons that make it easy for the horse to respond in a correct manner. We do not want them to fail. We build confidence and trust with each positive response we get from our horse and with the reward and release from the pressure.

It is important for you to learn to read your horse so you will know how much pressure it takes to motivate change without being overly forceful. Some horses require a good amount of pressure before they become 'uncomfortable' and start looking for what it is that will release the pressure. Others are extremely sensitive and require that you are careful to not over power them. This is the benefit of breaking down a lesson into enough steps that any horse can easily and confidently learn and advance to the next lesson.

We cannot avoid pressure; however, we can find a creative and constructive way to use that pressure to build a relationship with our horse that is full of mutual respect, trust, and confidence. The lessons I use dissect every maneuver into its basic components and taught one piece at a time. Then when it is put back together it becomes every so easy to make small adjustments to get the best performance of that maneuver. Most importantly, the horse understands and with little fuss makes those changes in a relaxed and confident way.

We all need some vacation time to relax our minds, just remember you are not the only one who deals with pressure everyday. The more we can use pressure to make positive changes and find ways to apply that pressure in ways that help our horses learn, the better our relationships will become.
